From Log Cabin to White House by WM Thayer - Antiquated Spiral Bound Journal

This antiquated journal is bound in a deep green paper and embossed to represent bookcloth. There is an overall, further embossed design to the front cover with an intricate design of a phoenix motif and thistles. The title is gilt with a stylized phoenix emblem. All typical of the 1900s.

I reinvent exhausted books that have split spines, loose boards, torn pages or even a few missing chapters. With a little sympathetic restoration plus the addition of a sketch grade paper and useful envelopes this abandoned book has a new lease of life.......

Please look closely at the images provided, I have shown any age related ware where necessary. I find these additions interesting and characterful, like little moments in time....

DETAILS

• Size approximately A5 plus binding

• It is bound with black continuous wires

• Inside you will find some useful envelopes for collecting memorabilia, one white one kraft paper entitled ‘Bits n Bobs’ and integral, handmade, bookmark, with my details and an image from the book

• As the book is old and used it does have age related ware and marks. I don’t try to hide these, just restore a little retaining the character of the book. I have shown this in the pictures above

• There are thirty pages (60 sides) of natural white, recycled sketch grade cartridge paper, 130gsm, which is combined with the salvaged pages of the book. Suitable for writing, sketching and memorabilia.
